PRODUCT DETAILS
The Aventon Pace 4 Step-Through is a Class 3 commuter e-bike built for riders who want real speed and range without compromising on easy step-through mounting. A 500W rear hub motor with 864W peak Boost power moves you up to 28 mph (when unlocked from default Class 2), with an honest 70-mile range and an integrated rear wheel lock that immobilizes the bike at parked stops. The low step-through frame, available in Regular (4'11"–5'7") and Large (5'7"–6'3"), makes mounting and dismounting effortless.
The Pace 4 is Aventon's fast commuter — lighter, faster, and longer-range than the cargo-oriented Abound family, with the same connected platform: 4G/GPS tracking, geofencing, startup password, and over-the-air updates via Aventon's Control Unit (ACU).
WHO THE PACE 4 STEP-THROUGH IS FOR
- Commuters who want speed — Class 3 capability (28 mph pedal-assist) cuts real time off a longer commute.
- Riders who value easy mounting — step-through frame for skirts, work clothes, recovery from injury, or anyone who doesn't want to swing a leg over.
- Range-anxious commuters — 70-mile claimed range covers a week of moderate commutes between charges.
- Smart-bike users — integrated rear wheel lock + 4G theft tracking + startup password is one of the strongest theft-protection packages at this price.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How fast does the Pace 4 Step-Through go?
Out of the box, the Pace 4 is set to Class 2 (20 mph max with both pedal-assist and throttle). It's rider-adjustable to Class 3 (28 mph pedal-assist only). Class 3 e-bikes are restricted from some bike paths — check your local rules.
What's the difference between the Pace 4 and the Level 4?
The Pace 4 is Aventon's fast commuter — lighter frame, higher 28 mph top speed, less cargo-focused. The Level 4 is the do-everything commuter with a longer wheelbase, racks, and slightly different geometry. Pick the Pace 4 if speed and weight matter; pick the Level 4 if you want a more versatile platform.
What's the real-world range?
Aventon claims up to 70 miles in Eco mode. In practice, expect 30–55 miles depending on rider weight, hills, cargo, throttle vs. pedal use, and assist level.
Does the step-through frame affect performance?
No — the step-through has the same motor, battery, brakes, and electronics as the standard Pace 4. The only difference is the lowered top tube for easier mounting.
Is it waterproof?
IPX5 water-resistant, not waterproof. Light to moderate rain is fine. Don't pressure-wash it and don't submerge it.
What's the warranty?
Aventon covers the frame, components, and battery for 2 years. As an authorized Aventon dealer, Around the Cycle handles all warranty claims in-shop.
